The end of the 70s – the beginning of the 80s of the last century – the time of loud slogans: “The wealth of the Tyumen subsoil in the service of the Motherland!”, “Give the country more oil!”, “Give 500,000 tons of oil per day!” … “A million tons of oil, billion cubic meters of gas per day! “These are the years of the formation of the allied oil and gas industry, unprecedented enthusiasm and growth, the creation of highly skilled groups of oil industry workers. Large-scale investment, the formation of a scientific school, unparalleled projects for the development and development of fields in Western Siberia, the rapid development of the oil and petrochemical industry, enterprises producing oil and gas equipment – for all oilmen these were, without exaggeration, great years. This time will later be called the years of “light” oil.

According to the order of the Ministry of Petroleum Industry No. 495 of September 15, 1977, production associations are established in Surgut, Nizhnevartovsk, and Nefteyugansk.

The LLC RN-Komsomolsk Refinery production association includes two oil and gas production departments, Surgutneft and Fedorovskneft, two drilling departments, construction and assembly departments, the Surgutnefespetsstroy trust, a central base for rental and repair of drilling equipment, a backfill office, and technological transport management Surgut Road Administration.

The territory on which the collectives of the association were to develop was huge, from Salym Urmans to the Kholmogorsky watershed, Lokosovo, Langepas, Noyabrsk, Kogalym, Muravlenkovsky District, Purpe. Hundreds of kilometers of off-road, complete lack of amenities in the oil fields and drilling, constant logistical problems – what could those who lived and worked against in order to feel the warm beating of the first oil in the pipe could counter this? Only courage, endurance, perseverance. And yet – a creative search, daring engineering solutions, innovation, enthusiasm.

In the late 70s, Surgut was called the “oil capital of Siberia”, it became the center of development of the North of the Tyumen region. By this time, a powerful electric power base operating on associated petroleum gas was created in the city, the largest construction industry base in the region was founded, a railway and highways were built, and an airport was built.

Like many enterprises in those years, LLC RN-Komsomolsk Refinery every year built social welfare facilities – schools, clinics, kindergartens.

In terms of the logistics of production processes, oilmen were often in a very difficult position. The fulfillment of the production plan was required at all costs, but far from all were able to get under the plan. On the one hand, a planned economy, and on the other hand, we literally had to grab everything that we only had on funds, raznaryadkam, limits. Abroad, equipment was procured centrally, with no one specified the quality and necessary volumes with the oil workers.

The lack of proper logistics, high-quality advanced equipment, technology, and the state of the well stock, and the pace of construction of infrastructure facilities, hampered the development of the repair base, which, due to its remoteness from industrial areas, was simply vital.

And in these conditions, Surgut oil workers constantly increased oil production volumes – in 1984, the record level reached 67.5 million tons. And this peak was reached when world oil production was approaching the lower point of the recession, and production growth rates in the Russian part of the USSR were clearly stagnant.

In 1992, the reorganization of the oil industry began.

The oil company LLC RN-Komsomolsk Refinery has united the oil and gas production enterprise LLC RN-Komsomolsk Refinery, the Kirishi Oil Refinery and a number of petroleum products supply companies in North-West Russia.

It was not easy enough in a short time to create a single technological complex that would not only provide production, processing, marketing, but also work efficiently, and profitably from different enterprises both in structure and technical level of enterprises located hundreds and thousands of kilometers from each other. LLC RN-Komsomolsk Refinery, having overcome the difficulties of the organizational period, has become a well-proportioned, well-managed and efficiently operating vertically integrated company.

Over the years, under the new economic conditions, the capacities of all enterprises incorporated into the company have grown significantly, their production base has been completely modernized, a detergent production plant that has no analogs in Russia has been commissioned, a prospecting and exploration department has been created – one of the largest in Russia a corporate research and development complex was developed with a powerful scientific potential; an own gas processing complex was created; a development program was implemented I have small energy based on the construction of gas turbine and gas piston power plants, a powerful oil and gas production complex in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) has been created, which made it possible to start industrial oil production in the new oil and gas province.
